Ruby Dell (Gallop) Hughes

Our beloved, Mother Ruby D. Hughes age 82 of Shiloh, NC departed from this earthly life on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. 

Life Celebration Services will take place on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 12:00 Noon at Evangelical Methodist Church, Elizabeth City, NC with Elder David Spellman, Officiating. Interment will follow in the Hughes Cemetery, Shiloh, NC. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. We are still following all COVID-19 restrictions. 

A true soldier and warrior for God, Mother Hughes will be forever remembered by: eleven children, Marietta Evans of Shiloh, NC, Cleveland D. Hughes (Robin) of Cary, NC, Wilma M. Griffin of Raleigh, NC, Landa R. West of Shiloh, NC, Cobronco L. Hughes of Raleigh, NC, Terry J. Hughes (Yvette) of Connecticut, Merry K. Brooks (Curtis), Charity Nunez (Paul), and Faith B. Mosley (Calvin) all of Elizabeth City, NC, Hope R. Johnson (Terrance) of Raleigh, NC and Adrian O. Hughes (Elnora) of Suffolk, VA; eighteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; siblings, Johnnie Gallop (Mildred) of New York, Joseph Gallop (Eula) of Boston, MA, Annie Whaff of Norfolk, VA, Armecie West (James) of Youngsville, NC, Richard Gallop of Elizabeth City, NC and Matthew Gallop of South Carolina; one aunt, Willie Bell Upton, Jacksonville, FL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
