"When death has come and taken our loved ones, It leaves our home so lonely and drear
And then do we wonder why others prosper, Living so wicked year after year
Farther along we'll know all about it, Farther along we'll understand why
Cheer up my brother live in the sunshine, We'll understand it all by and by"
Miguel Ullom, age 85 of the 1400 block of Walkers Avenue, Elizabeth City, NC, transitioned from this earthly life to his known Creator, on the evening of Monday, April 9, 2018 peacefully at the Sentara Nursing Center in Norfolk, VA.
His solemn and known request to our Final Care Professionals many months ago, was for no services to be held and his memories only reside in the hearts of others with love. Friends and loved ones were sad to see him go, but will soon rejoice, knowing he is absent from pain and suffering on this side.
In 1962 he received an honorable discharge from the Navy after being in the Korean War and USS Comfort Medical Ship.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Lemoine Ullom, a brother, Edward R. Ullom and great-grandson, Christian Lewis.
He is survived by his three daughters, Michele Hayden (Larry), Donna Lemoine and Valerie Mullen ( Mike); brother, Dominic Ullom; sister, Josephine Kapinos; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Keith, Todd, Joe, Stephanie, Joni and Jennifer; seven great-grandchildren, Alana, Amber, JC, Brianna, Sebastian, Navar and Ava; one great-great grandchild, Michael Leo. He will be sorely missed by the many friends, family and loved ones he leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Red Cross. Arrangements by Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations, Elizabeth City, NC.
Please feel free to light a candle in loving memory and sign the guestbook with an expression of love to the family.
