Our beloved, Jean R. Hayes, 82 of Elizabeth City, NC departed from this earthly life suddenly after a blessed Mother's Day with her loving family, on Monday, May 10, 2021 at the Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Her life will be celebrated on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Lebanon A.M.E. Zion Church, Elizabeth City, NC with Pastor Javan Leach, Officiating. A viewing of her earthly remains will commence on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations Chapel. Her earthly bed of rest will be in the West Lawn Cemetery.

We will be following all COVID-19 restrictions. The service will be limited in attendance and we ask that contact be made with the family prior to entry.
