Charles Edmond Wright,Sr.

Charles E. Wright, Sr., 77 of Elizabeth City, NC, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022, at the Sentara Albemarle Medical Center. Charles was the son of the late Adore and Sudie Bembridge Wright. 

A Celebration of Charles' life will take place on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations Chapel with Rev. Steven Colclasure, Officiating. 

He was preceded in death by a brother, William Lloyd Wright of Elizabeth City, NC. In 1964, Charles was a charter member of the first rescue squad in Elizabeth City, NC. From 1971-1975, he also served in the Nation Guard in Elizabeth City, NC. 1966-1983, Charles worked at the local A&P Grocery Store. 

He is survived by three sons, Tim Wright of Elizabeth City, NC, Thomas Wright (Lisa) of Elizabeth City, NC and Charles Wright, Jr., (Ann) of Georgia. He was also blessed with three grandchildren, Tina, Trey, and Sammy along with five great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Faith, Shawn, Natalie and Maximus of Thomson, Georgia.
