Shirley (Owens) Wright

With humbled and saddened hearts, the remaining loved ones of Shirley Mae Owens Wright, bid her a earthly farewell as she transitioned from this life on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Waterbrooke in Elizabeth City. 

Life Celebration Services will take place on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 12:00 noon at Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Freddie Godfrey, Officiating. Interment will follow in the New Oak Grove Cemetery. She will lie in state one hour prior to service. 

Shirley leaves to cherish the sweet beautiful memories of her life; a devoted daughter, Alesion Wright of Elizabeth City, NC; and a son, Devond Wright (Dyamon) of Petersburg, VA; two granddaughters, Dashayla Wright of Elizabeth City, NC and Cherrish Wright of Petersburg, VA; four brothers, Willie Owens (Ethel Bell), David Owens (Margie), William Owens (Pamela) all of Elizabeth City, NC and her twin brother, Shelton Owens (Posie) of Lumberton, NC; two sisters, Frances Owens and Carolyn Turner (Vincent) of Elizabeth City, NC; one uncle, Harold Looney (Angela) of Sterling, VA; and two additional sisters-in-law, Geraldine Owens of Jacksonville, FL and Betty Owens of Charlotte, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
