My Dear Sweet Justin. I spoke to you days before your departing. You listened carefully to what I had to say. I promised you that you had your whole life ahead of you. You went home spoke with your mother and brother Gary and you all decided to relocate back north. Your mother said you were in great spirits. I was happy for that. Although I promised you a whole life of happiness, I could'nt compete with God. We all wanted Mr. Justin to come home but you are HOME. You are a ANGEL. UNITIL WE MEET AGAIN MY SWEET BOY. We first came to know Justin a few years ago when we took our puppy into Lowes. He approached us saying he had a puppy that looked like ours. He showed us pictures and after talking, we realized that we had adopted litter mates from the SPCA. After that, whenever we saw him at Lowes we would compare pictures of the puppies. One of the last times we talked to him, he told us that he had moved out on his own and his mother had kept the puppy. He was such a nice guy!! Condolences to the family.

What a handsome man, Mr. Smith was. Please allow me to offer my condolences to his family with these healing words: "When the Lord caught sight of her, he was moved with pity for her, and he said to her: “Stop weeping.” With that he approached and touched the bier, and the bearers stood still. Then he said: “Young man, I say to you, get up!” And the dead man sat up and started to speak, and Jesus gave him to his mother." (Luke 7:13-15) The prophetic vision of Revelation 21:1-4 points to the time of “a new heaven” and “a new earth” and gives the promise that then “death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.” This is the resurrection hope for, Justin, as well. I am very sorry for the loss of your beloved son. May God's Word comfort you and your family. Sincerely, Meryl, jw.org - healingwordsforu@gmail.com

To have his life and career end so short, it really shows us that Officer Justin Smith and Mrs. V. Darden epitomized and lived out the words "Protect & Serve" .

I wanted to let you all know how very heartbroken I am for your whole family. I am sending prayers that you receive peace and justices. And I want you to know Justin is a Hero in our eyes and will never be forgotten. He gave all and will forever be a hero to me. He understood the dangers and He made that walk every day. We understand the sacrifices made by your family and we stand by you all. Sending prayers from Central Prison.

It was a privilege to be his first Sergeant. He learned his job well. He always had a smile and he was so kindhearted. He will truly be missed. I am so sorry for your loss.
