Remembering Thomas Earl "Tommy" Long

Thomas E. "Tommy" Long, 80 of Elizabeth City, NC passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

He was born on November 6, 1940 to the late Joseph F. Long and Mattie B. Long. He was also the brother of Mercer Long of Camden, NC and sisters, Sylvia Spay and Geraldine Long (deceased).

Tommy enjoyed life as a volunteer for over 50 years starting at Elizabeth City Junior High School and Northeastern High School under Coach Bob Brooks, Honey Johnson, Jerry McGee and Eric McDaniels. A special thank you to both schools for constantly putting a smile on his face.

**Northeastern High School along with the Elizabeth City Pasquotank Public School System will honor Tommy's life on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 6:40 p.m. prior to the football game. A fee will be administered at the gate.**
