Takiyah Janae Battle

Our beloved, Takiyah Janae Battle, 11, of Elizabeth City, NC, departed from this earthly life on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at the Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters, Norfolk, VA. 

Her life will be celebrated on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the Pasquotank County High School Gymnasium. Interment will follow in the Dove's Landing Cemetery. She will lie in state from 12:00 noon until time of service.

Takiyah had a radiant smile that was infectious to so many. She always showed love and concern for others with a big heart and was always ready to give you a helping hand. Anyone who knew her was truly touched by a loving angel. 

Beginnings

Takiyah Janae Battle also known to family and friends as Kiyah, or KiKi, was born on October 29, 2010 to the loving parents of Tony Battle and Nekesha Ferebee in Elizabeth City, NC.

Education

Takiyah was educated in the public schools of Pasquotank County where she attended Head Start, Central Elementary, and Elizabeth City Middle School. She was smart and loved to read, sing and dance and make TikTok videos with her friends and siblings and was learning to play the flute and enjoyed her band class.  Takiyah loved to read the Bible and was learning more about God.

An Unexpected Good-Bye

Takiyah left too soon, and the Loving angel flew away to be with her Savior on Thursday October 27th. Left to celebrate her life and cherish her memories is her Mother, Nekesha Ferebee; Father, Tony Battle; Sister, Talisha Battle; Brothers, Jayvon Ferebee and Kevin Battle of the home; Brothers, Randy and Tawayne Battle of Scotland Neck, NC; Sisters, Toniequa Battle, Tarboro NC; and Tiyana Wesson, Greenville, NC. Maternal Grandparents, Carl and Donna Ferebee of Roanoke Rapids, NC;Paternal Grandparents, Maebell Battle and the late Robert Johnson of Scotland Neck, NC; Uncles, Steven Ferebee of Roanoke Rapids, NC; special cousins Caidyn Robinson and Miley Wilkins; two special friends, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family has received numerous request on how individuals can be of assistance.
