Stanford Lee Lewis

Our beloved, Stanford Lee Lewis, 74 of Elizabeth City, NC, departed from this life on Friday, December 1, 2023. 

Life Celebration Services will take place on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations with Rev. Dr. Michelle Lewis Officiating and Dr. Keesha Landis delivering the eulogy. Interment will take on place on December 19, 2023, at Albert G. Horton State Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA. He will lie in state one hour prior to the service. 

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: two daughters, Stefanie Lewis of Portsmouth, VA and Dr. Keesha Landis (William) of Warrenton, NC; siblings, Clarence Lewis of Manteo, NC,  Sterling Godfrey, Clark Godfrey,  Rev. Walter A. Godfrey (Patricia), Willie S. Godfrey Jr. (Lorraine "Millie"), Rev. Cherring G. Spence, Vernon Godfrey Sr. (Shirley), Reginald N. Godfrey (Linda), Min. Glendora G. Brothers (Isaac Sr.), and Pastor Frederick Z. Godfrey (Amanda); one aunt, Margaret Riddick of Elizabeth City, NC; former spouse and lifelong friend, Ruth Lewis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
