Roosevelt Sheard, Jr.

We pause to reflect on the life and now embrace the memories of our beloved Roosevelt “Uncle Chick” Sheard, Jr., as the sunset of his life came on January 8, 2021. 

Life Celebration Services will take place on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Wade W. Staten, Sr., officiating. Interment will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery with military rites. An earthly glimpse and stroll will take place at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. 

Roosevelt Sheard, Jr. was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Sheard, his sister Charlotte Melson and niece Wendy Shannon. He leaves to cherish his memories, 5 children: Chonda Bowser of Winton, NC, Celena Sheard and Demetria Sheard both of Omaha, NE. Roosevelt Sheard, III and Da'Shaun Sheard both of Elizabeth City, NC. 16 grandchildren, 2 sisters Arnetta Sheard and Rosa Shannon both of Elizabeth City, NC and his brother Calvin Sheard (Debra) of Elizabeth City, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

We are following and adhering to all COVID-19 guidelines. Due to this, the services will be limited to the immediate family and all other requested guest. Mask are requested out of the respect of everyone’s safety.
