Raymond Hawkins, Jr.

Deacon Raymond Hawkins, Jr., 81 of Elizabeth City, NC, departed from this earthly life on Thursday, February 23, 2023.

Life Celebration Service will take place on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church, Elizabeth City, NC, with Rev. Dr. Kelvin E. McDonald, Sr., Officiating. Interment will follow in West Lawn Cemetery. A viewing will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. 

He met and married Jeraldine (Jeri) Bryant Hawkins and this union was blessed with three loving daughters Christie Hawkins of Winchester, Virginia, Tracie (Winfred Jr) Simpson of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Sheri (Joe) Pollard of Greensboro, NC. 

He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, children, sister, and sixadorable grandchildren, Kya Hawkins, Sherise Hawkins, Breya Simpson, Austen Simpson, Courdnee Simpson, Neiko Pollard; two great-grandsons Chance Archie and three day old, Truen Ray Mercer; four nephews, Darin, Jason, and Michael Brown and David Hawkins along with a host of friends.
