Obituary
Maurice Andre’ Jackson, Sr. passed away May 21, 2023, at the age of 59 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Living life to the fullest and on his own terms was how Maurice approached each day. “ Chop chop c’mon let’s go” or “I can make it happen in Mysterious Ways” were two statements that his kids and grandkids heard daily! He loved fishing and was referred to by his kids as “The Animal Whisperer” or “Master Driver”.
Maurice was born on September 9, 1963, in Durham, NC to Louise Jackson and was later adopted by Robert Jackson. His parents as well as his oldest brother Roy Council of Durham, NC all preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory two kids Maurice A. Jackson, II and Sherol Juanita Jackson both are of Elizabeth City, NC. Three sisters, Yvette Umstead (Reginald) of Durham, NC; Kaye Frazier (Tony) of Durham, NC; Robin Brown of Durham, NC; one brother Eugene Council (Pam) of Durham, NC and a sister-in-law Sharon Council of Durham NC. Maurice has four grandchildren Micah, Hana, Matthew and Moses. He has five nieces, six nephews and host of other relatives and friends.
The family will plan a memorial service at a later date.
