Marion Yvette Golden

Our beloved, Marion Yvette Golden, 56 of Manteo, NC departed from this earthly life on April 6, 2023. 

Her life will be celebrated on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations. 

Marion Golden "Yang", was born on July 23,1966  in Elizabeth City, NC. On April 6th, 2023 Yang entered her eternal rest. Some knew her as Yang , some as Maleeka.

Yang enjoyed working and helping others. She worked for Kelly's Restaurant for 8 years. Then continued her work at Roanoke Island Rest Area for 11 years up until her illness. 

Yang had a heart of gold and would do anything to help anybody she came in contact with. She always greeted you with the biggest brightest smile but one thing about Yang she definitely was going to keep it real and tell you like it was. Her favorite sayings were "It is what it is" and “it's been real.” She enjoyed reading and writing  in her spare time, drawing was her hidden talent  and she loved her music.  Yang loved her children, family, and friends dearly. She enjoyed spending quality time with her nieces and nephews. Everybody always wanted to be with aunt Yang. Her children could not have hand picked a better mom. She loved her kids more than she loved herself. There is not nothing she would not do for her children.  She believed in praying and calling on God in any time of need and she loved her gospel music. She had a special place in her heart for her aunts,and uncles. It was something about those aunts of hers as well as her uncles. She cherished every moment with them and  her siblings near or far and her parents. Yang was loved by so many.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Thomas Sr and Ida Mae Golden, and Otis and Lessie Mae Beasley. Her aunts Marion Rice and Earnestine Wright. Her uncles Otis Beasley and George Beasley. As well as a special great Aunt Mary Conway, and her daughter by love Desiree McMurran.

Her memory will be cherished by her parents Thomas and Marjorie Golden of Manteo,NC, her two sons, Tyshaun Golden of Boston,MA,and Terahn Blue of Manteo,NC. Her daughter Teyerah Golden of Manteo,NC and her Daughter by love Chemere Blue of Georgia. Her siblings Thomas Beasley of Boston, MA, Katrena Golden of Sierra Vista, AZ, Larry Golden of Boston, MA, Jameel Golden of Wilmington, NC  and Adrian Golden of Manteo, NC. Her grandchildren Naiyelle (Tyleah),Ty (Woodoo) ,Shauny , and Tiauna Blue. Her aunts and uncles, Carolyn Perry (Jeff) of Dover, DE, Annette Daniels (Jerome) of Bridgeville, DE, Lisa Mullen of Lincoln, DE, Mary Beasley of Dover, DE, Beulah Johnson (Prezannie), Alice Seymore of Elizabeth City, NC, Geradine Williams (James) of Laurel, DE, Carrie Holmes of Raleigh , NC,  Sharon Golden of Canyon,TX and Cora Faye Golden Burrus of Manteo, NC,  Charlie Golden (Louise) of Manteo, NC, and Henry Golden (Vanessa) of Warner Robins, GA. Her nieces and nephews Alisha,Troy, Jaznee, Zariah, Jemara, Karena, My'Karris , Ky'Arii and Benjamin. Her great nieces and nephews Khamirah, Khajahn and Jahmiya. As well as a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
