Our beloved, Mamie Alverna Hollowell Hurdle, 84 of Hertford, NC, departed from this earthly life on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.
Life Celebration Services will take place on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Apostolic Holiness Church, Sunbury, NC with Bishop Robert Knight, Officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A viewing will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the home of the deceased, 269 Hurdletown Road, Hertford, NC.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: husband, Henry Clay Hurdle of the home; three children, Dorothy Hurdle Simpkins (Charles) of Chesapeake, Va, Robert Lee Hurdle (fiance' Shelia) and Johnnie McArthur Hurdle (Pamela) both of Hertford, NC; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two siblings, Johnnie Hollowell and Margaret Bartlett, both of Hertford, NC; sisters-in law, Mildred Hollowell of Hertford, NC, Ella Stewart (Herman) of Maryland, Estella Walker and Rosie Wood of Hertford, NC, Bessie Jackson of New Jersey and James Hurdle, Jr., (Molly) of Hertford, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
