Magdaline Wesley Obituary

Our beloved, Magdaline "Aunt Maggie" Williams Wesley, 68 of Elizabeth City, NC, departed from this earthly life on Thursday, April 13, 2023.

Life Celebration Services will take place on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, Elizabeth City, NC, with Bishop Walter Godfrey, Officiating and Bishop David L. White, Jr., delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. A viewing will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Magdaline Williams Wesley, â€‹â€‹affectionally known as Maggie, was the daughter of the late George M. Williams and Harriet Griffin Williams. She entered this world on August 31, 1954 and entered eternal rest on April 13, 2023.

Maggie was educated in the Pasquotank County Schools in North Carolina and worked for Norshipco. and Sentara.

Maggie was a member of Bethel AME Zion church.

Maggie was considered the life of the party and could adapt to any setting. To all she was known as “Aunt Maggie” and her biggest passion in life was making those around her smile. Her presence alone brought joy to everyone. The pure and genuine love she expressed will surely be missed.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Roxangel W. White, Stella W. McPherson and a brother George Williams.

To carry on her legacy and love she leaves her son Cleveland Tyrone Williams (Erica Johnson-Fiancée). Three grandchildren Ieysha Welch, Nikida Whidbee and Eric Darden. Seven great-grandchildren and one godson,  Marcus Riddick; her siblings Charles Williams (Stephanie), Gwendolyn Herring (Sylvester), Caroline Carver, Eulanda Williams, and a loving sister-in-law Lynnette Browne-Williams; a loving uncle Naman Williams and loving cousin/aunt Mary J. Harris; special cousins Melony McCoy, Nancy Ann Taylor, Roxanne Gibbs, Savonne Griffin, Beatrice Williams, Mollyann Dixon, Denise Simmons and Joe Eason; special nieces that she helped raise, Chandrea Whitehurst and Telia Williams, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends along with her adopted Green family.
