Leon Walston

Our beloved, Leon Walston departed from this earthly life on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at his residence in Maple, NC.

Life Celebration Services will take place on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations Chapel with Pastor Iris Dance, Officiating. A viewing will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. 

The service will be limited in attendance as we are following all COVID-19 restrictions. 

He leaves to cherish his loving memories: wife of 35 years, Lesseley Walston, of the home; eight children, Felicia Dawson of Moyock, NC, Eugene Mullen (Arounia) of New Bern, NC, Tamika Griffin of Norfolk, VA, Kenny Perkins (Jayce) of Elizabeth City, NC, Tonia Ferebee (Ernest) of Camden, NC, Leon D. Walston, Sr., (Reequita) of Elizabeth City, NC, Danny Reid of Dallas, TX and Mashinta Walston of Raleigh, NC whom was considered a special daughter; grandchildren, Terrance Jones, Leon D. Walston, Jr., Justine Walston, Travon Walston (Jody), Kita Walston, Ayeshia Rogers, Roderick Griffin, Taneika Griffin, Kendra White, Amanda Mullen, Justin Mullen, Laveya Walston; nineteen great-grandchildren; two siblings Laphorfest Cowell of Sligo, NC and William Henry of Chesapeake, VA; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Walston and Marion Walston; three best friends, Carl Jones, Roy Garrett and Gary Corbett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
