Our precious baby boy, Kae'den Thomas Waterfield-Smith, made his grand entrance into this world with his identical twin brother, Grayden Leon, on July 31st, 2023. Born to Briah Waterfield of Knotts Island, NC and Bryan Smith of Slidell, Louisiana. Kae'den was the youngest of 5 siblings in a beautifully blended family. Kae'den Thomas was born in Norfolk, VA, 7 weeks prematurely, weighing only 3lbs at birth. For two months him and his twin brother Grayden, came to know the NICU of Norfolk General as home. Through every battle, obstacle, issue, or delay our baby gave it his all- and with a smile on his face. Everyone who has ever gotten the pleasure to meet or cross paths with Kae'den, always noted on his soft eyes and beautiful smile. Through it all our baby never gave up and never stopped smiling.
Kae'den loved the outdoors and the water. Once he was able to come home from the hospital, and met his older siblings, it was always a competition as to who would push the stroller for their daily walk. Our boy truly loved the beauty of the world. From the birds to the bees, from the sky to the sea, everywhere we look we'll always fondly be reminded of our sweet, handsome, smiling baby boy. Kae'den entered eternal rest on January 7th, 2024; though our hearts won't ready, his wings were.
He will be missed and loved so deeply and truly by all those who have known and met him. He is survived by his parents, Briah Waterfield and Bryan Smith, and his four siblings Damien, 5, Daylen, 5, Alanah, 4, and his twin brother Grayden, 5 months old, as well as 5 Aunts; Amanda Sawyer, Shea Saunders, Kalyn Waterfield, Braily Waterfield and Kenidy Waterfield and 1 Uncle; John Saunders, along with maternal and paternal grandparents, and several cousins. He is preceded in death by, his Uncle's Eric Saunders, Jordan Holloman, and Ashton "Boogie" Lott, and his Grandpaw "Bop".
