Obituary

John "Buck" Bonds was born to the late Earnie Bonds and Carrie Jennings Bonds on October 31, 1949 in Camden, North Carolina and departed this earthly life on Monday, November 15, 2021. John Bonds family and close friends knew him as "Buck" with a spirit of willing to help anyone. 

Life Celebration Service will take place on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 12:00 noon at the Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations located at 609 Hull Drive Eizabeth City, North Carolina 27909 with Elder Robert Aydlett, Officiating. He will be laid to rest in New Sawyer's Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetry Camden, North Carolina. He will also lie in state one hour prior to the service for viewing. 
 

John Bonds preceded in death by one brother Lawrence Harris, one sister Carrie Harris and one nephew Derrick Harris. He received his public education at Marian Anderson High School, currently known as Camden Middle School. Buck attended New Sawyer's Creek Missionary Baptist Church at an early age where he strengthens his faith with the Lord. During his childhood, Buck enjoyed playing basketball during his school years. John Bonds spent the majority of his adulthood in New York working at the Post office. Although, John Bonds was a man of few words, he enjoyed sibling rivalry with his twin Sallie Bonds. He was always on the move and lived his life to the fullest until his health started to decline. 
 

He leaves to cherish his memories and is survived by his loving family consisting of four sisters: Martha Magee (deceased spouse Mannie Magee) of Long Island, New York, Elizabeth Bonds and Darlene Bonds of Camden, North Carolina and Sallie Bonds (twin sister) Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Two brothers Eddie Bonds (spouse Renee) of Camden, North Carolina and Josephus Cecil Harris and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

Professional Services of Comfort has been entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations, "Where Service is Our Ministry".
