Henry Louis Felton, Sr.

Deacon Henry Louis Felton, Sr., age 78, of Hertford, NC, departed from this earthly life on Friday, February 27, 2026. 

Life Celebration Service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Greater Saunders Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Hertford, NC, with Rev. Nicole Jordan Spencer, Officiating and Bishop Landon B. Mason, Sr., delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends at the home of the deceased, 115 Sharp's Lane, Hertford, NC. 

Deacon Henry Louis Felton, Sr., was born to Louis H. Felton and Estelle M. Felton on May 31, 1947. Henry attended Perquimans County Public School. He received his B.S. degree in Social Studies from Elizabeth City State University. He was a history teacher at Perqumans County High School. He also received his Master's degree from East Carolina University in School Administration. Henry became an assistant principal in Perquimans County and later the principal of Perquimans County Middle School. 

Henry married his college sweetheart, Joyce Grantham, in 1968. To this union, three children were born: Demetria, Henry, Jr., (Tonya) and Linda (Glen); three grandchildren: Kaleb, James, and Cassidy Felton. Left to treasure his memories besides his wife, Joyce Grantham Felton, of the home children and grandchildren, are also two sister, Carolyn F. Richardson and Christine Reid (Thomas); four brothers, Howard Eugene Felton (Lisa), Preston Felton (Rosa), Nathan Felton, and Garland Felton (Carla); aunts, uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. *In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McConnell-Raab HOPE LODGE, Attn: Maleeka Manning, Manager, 930-A Wellness Dr., Greenville NC 27834. 

There will not be a PUBLIC viewing.
