Edward R. Jones, Jr.

Our beloved, U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Edward R. Jones, Jr., 89 of Hertford, NC, departed from this earthly life on Sunday, March 19, 2023, after a long joyful life surrounded by his family. 

Life Celebration Services will convene on Friday, March 24, 2023, at 12:00 noon, at Melton Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Winfall, NC, with Rev. Alvin J. Boone, Sr., Officiating. Military Rites will be rendered. 

 Edward was the oldest of three (3) children, born on January 03,1934. He will be deeply missed. He is predeceased by Edward R. Jones, Sr (father) Emma L. McRae-Jones (mother) Beatrice Pettiford (sister) and Michael Jones (only grandson)

He is survived by Wilma Jones (wife), and 6 children (Mike, DeVitta, Edna, Wayne, LaVon, and Edwina), and 13 grands and 4 great grandchildren.
