Donna (Braxton) Cant

Donna Braxton Cant, 62  sadly passed away in Moyock, North Carolina on July 30, 2023. Donna was born to the late Thomas and Donnadean Braxton on December 3, 1960. Donna grew up in Hammond, Indiana. As a teenager, she moved to Florida where she found her love for horses and all animals. This is also where she met the love of her life Michael Cant. Donna moved to Jacksonville, Florida and resided there until her husband was transferred/stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. She was a strong military wife and mother. Serving as Ombudsman and president of the wives club multiple times. She met many friends along her life’s path. When you met her you loved her. Her laugh and humor was so contagious. On your worst day, she could make you laugh. Donna is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Donnadean Braxton, nephew Brian Houchin, and her son Michael (Mikey) Cant II. 

Donna is survived by her husband Michael Cant, daughter Brandy (Claudio) Romero, grandchildren Alexis (Jonathan) Anardo, Michael Thurman, and Shelby Thurman, great grandchildren Ivey and Jacob Anardo, brother Thomas (Michelle) Braxton, sister Laura Houchin, nieces Alison Houchin and Melanie Braxton, nephews Keith (Amanda) Houchin, Thomas Braxton, and Doug (Joan) Braxton, great niece Emma Houchin, cousins, and many friends. Visitation will be held for family and friends at Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations on Saturday, August 5, 2023, from 4:00 pm-5:00 PM. Celebration of life will begin at 5:00pm.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to COPDfoundation.org  in honor of Donna. You may also donate to local animal shelter in honor of Donna.
