David Alan Ennis of Columbia, NC, passed away on March 24, 2023, from complications obtained during a 6-week stay in the Ahoskie Health and Rehab Nursing Home. David was in the Citadel Health and Rehab nursing home in Elizabeth City NC when he passed.
David was born on July 15, 1962, to Carl and Janet Ennis in Dover DE and lived in Townsend DE for many years. He was a cross country-long distance truck driver and eventually settled in Columbia NC next to his parents. David changed careers later in life to become a local truck driver delivering fuel in his community for Crossroads fuel so he could be close by to take care of his parents.
David is survived by his brother Donald Ennis of Delaware, Carol Maryott of California, and his 3- year-old yellow lab, Diesel who is now living in California with Carol and Randy.
David Ennis was a kind and thoughtful soul and will be greatly missed and remembered by the many lives he touched. He was dedicated to his job and those in his community that he served. If someone needed fuel, they could always count on David to get it there on time and when needed.
On the day of David’s passing he was visited and loved by many friends and his siblings and nephews. We thank all of you for your love and support during this sad and stressful time. Special thanks to Clara Gallup for being his angel and good friend throughout his life and illness.
David was taken home too soon. His family hopes he his riding his dream Harley through the heavenly golden gates and playing on the blissful clouds with his parents, friends and family who passed before him. Daavid, everyone you left in this world hates that you are gone but we are happy that you are home free and painless. We will always love and miss you until we can meet again.
