We pause to acknowledge the earthly transition of our beloved, Curtis Lee Mullen affectionately known "Jack". The sunset of his life came on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at the Citadel of Elizabeth City at the age of 88.
Life Celebration Services will take place on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations Chapel with Pastor William Bonner, Officiating. His earthly bed of rest will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery. An earthly glimpse and scroll will take place at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Jack leaves to cherish his legacy and precious memories: one sister, Sarah A. Stokely; one brother, Rev. Johnnie Eugene Mullen (Biggie); five special nieces, Betty Jean (whom he looked at as a daughter, Dorris, Denise, Sarah Lee and Wanda; one special nephew (whom he looked at as a son, and always kept the doctors straight, Larry Mullen; one special great-niece, Syreeta Mullen; two special great-nephews, Dywane Crandell, Jr., and James Mullen; four special cousins, Mary Holley (Edward), Wilma Griffin (Wayne), Grenda Harris (Quinton) and Caroln Staten; and a host of great nieces, nephews and friends.
