Remembering Clarence Cartwright
Our beloved, Clarence Cartwright, 93 of Norfolk, VA departed from this earthly life on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the Signature HealthCARE of Norfolk.
Life Celebration Services will take place on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations with Rev. Oscar Butts, Officiating. He will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 9:00am at the Albert G. Horton Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA.
He leaves behind a legacy of beautiful memories in the lives of his progeny and siblings. He was preceded in death by a daughter, the late Rita Seymour-Chance. This legacy will continue on in one son, Larry Ferebee (Shonnette), two daughters, Cynthia Diana Overton and Joyce Godwin-Sawyer (Vernon), a special niece and nephews, Sandra Keyes, Clarence “Ercell” Cartwright (Shirley), and Anderson Cartwright, Jr.(Kimberly); sixteen grandchildren, Tammy Walston-Sutton (Ron), Larry Cooper (Javon), Glorneishia Robison, Larry Ferebee, Jr., Shacora Ferebee, Shamara Price (Horace), Tykira Davis (Troy), Shanika Overton, Khima Bibbins (Issa), Takisha Moore, Marshall Toxey, Jr. (Megan), Maurice Toxey, Shervon Gordon, Jerry Gordon, Jr., Kevin Moore, and Sean Moore, Jr; two brothers, Shelton Cartwright (Yvonne), and Quinton Cartwright(the late Nora). He was preceded in death by seven siblings and their spouses, Linwood Cartwright (Rena), Rufus “Buddy” Cartwright (Hattie), Anderson Cartwright, Sr., (Louise), Odessa C. Keyes (Alexander); Annie C. Skinner, (Richard), Margaret C. Walston, (Cleveland) and Oscar” Nuke” Cartwright, thirty great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
