Charles Daniel Overton

Our beloved, Charles Daniel "CD" Overton, 89 of Hertford, NC, departed from this earthly life on Friday, December 15, 2023. 

His life will be remembered on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Galatia Missionary Baptist Church, Hertford, NC with Rev. Alvin J. Boone, Sr. Officiating and his son, Pastor Charles W. Overton delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A viewing will take place at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. 

Mr. CD leaves to cherish his memories: children, Kent Overton of Maricopa, AZ, Charlene Shelton (Carson) of Hertford, NC, Charles Wayne Overton (Joyce) of Elizabeth City, NC, Eddie Overton (Pamela) of Queens, NY, Jack Overton (Evelyn) of Briston, CT, and Rosie Overton of Hertford, NC; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one sister, Rosie Banks of Elizabeth City, NC;  two sisters-in-law, Mable Turner of Virginia Beach, VA, and Doris Jean Rainey of Elizabeth City, NC; one brother-in-law, George Washington Johnson, Jr., of Maryland; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
