Our beloved, Barbara Jean Johnikins Shannon, departed from this earthy life on Friday, March 13, 2020 at her residence.

Life Celebration Services will take place for the family only. Viewing and Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Sandra Shannon, 1647 Nixonton Road, Elizabeth City, NC.

Barbara Jean leaves to honor and cherish her memories: one daughter, Sandra Elaine Shannon (Charles) of Elizabeth City, NC; one son, Will Douglas Shannon, Jr. of Hertford, NC; three granddaughters Anicka White, Laquita Frost, and Telia Williams; two sisters, Vivian Hobbs and Olivia Etheridge, both of Elizabeth City, NC; one brother, Elbert Earl Johnikins (Beaulah) of Waterbury, Conn.; two aunts, Earlene Sellers of Hertford, NC; and Onella Hobbs of Elizabeth City, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
