William Preston Deane, Sr.

Our beloved and most precious, William Preston Deane, Sr., age 70 of Elizabeth City, NC passed away on October 14, 2018. 

He lived in Currituck County for nine years with his son and grandchildren before moving to Elizabeth City in March of 2017. Born and raised in the mountains of Virginia. 

 Navy and Vietnam Veteran. Family and friends knew him as “Bill” and “Ikie” He was quite the family food critic, loved his country food, sweets, and meat! Wonderful grandfather of Kayla, Alexis, and Liam. Loving father of William Preston Deane, JR and his daughter-in-law, Carrie Deane. Brother of Joy and Jan. 

 Born February, 4, 1948 and was sadly taken from this world on October, 14th, 2018. He will be remembered by his strong personality, insightful conversations, and the positive impact he had on his son, three grandchildren and his close friends. His family loved him more than he could have ever known and will hold on to the good memories they were blessed with while he was on this earth. A service will be held at a later date.

                          Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die.”
