It has become the solemn duty of the Final Care Professionals at Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations to walk in guidance with the remaining loved ones of Wilhelmena Rodgers Carter, age 80 of Elizabeth City, NC, as she made her peaceful transition to her home beyond the skies to sit as a seamstress in Heaven on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation in Elizabeth City, NC.
A meaningful and thoughtful celebration of her life will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Corner Stone Missionary Baptist Church, Elizabeth City, NC. Her precious frame will lie in state from 12:50 p.m. until 1:50 p.m. at the church on Friday. Moments of Viewing and Mediation will take place with family and friends on Thursday at the funeral home from the hours of 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A more intimate setting with the family to share memories will be held at her residence, 805 Cardwell Street, Elizabeth City.
Mrs. Wilhelmena leaves to cherish her precious memories: six children, Doris Bowser (Ronald) of Gretna, La, Juanita LeBarron (Michael) of Elizabeth City, NC, Henry L. Carter, Jr., (Mary) of Fayetteville, NC, Willie Carter, Sr., (Henrietta) of Lawton, Ok, Deloris Brumsey (Raymond) of Elizabeth City, NC and Hope Fenstermacher (Shawn) of Riverdale, Md; siblings, Doris Mortimer of New York, NY, Mary Granby (William) of Virginia Beach, VA, Walter Rodgers (Melicent) of Hyattsville, Md, James Rodgers of Hertford, NC and Sheila Wilson of New Jersey; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
