"IT BROKE OUR HEARTS TO LOSE YOU, BUT YOU DID NOT GO ALONE. A PART OF US WENT WITH YOU, THE DAY GOD TOOK YOU HOME. IF TEARS COULD BUILD A STAIRWAY, AND HEARTACHES MAKE A LANE, WE WOULD WALK OUR WAY TO HEAVEN, AND BRING YOU BACK AGAIN. IN LIFE WE LOVED YOU DEARLY, IN DEATH WE LOVE YOU STILL, IN OUR HEARTS YOU HOLD A PLACE NO ONE COULD EVER FILL."
The life of the party, friend to all, Wayne Douglas Saunders, affectionately known as "Scoop", age 57 of 105 Firestation Court, Moyock, NC, transitioned from this life on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the Chesapeake Regional Medical Center, Chesapeake, VA.
The family has elected to celebrated his life on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Christian Home Baptist Church, Moyock, NC with the Rev. Ronnie M. Culley, officiating. Interment will follow the celebration in the Moyock Community Cemetery. An earthly glimpse of Scoop will be held on Friday, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of the deceased.
Scoop leaves behind those to remember his love and legacy; siblings, Yolanda Saunders, of Elizabeth City, NC, James Ann Spellman of Norfolk, VA, Stanley Saunders (Gertrude) of Newport News, VA and Robin Saunders of Springdale, Md; step-mother, Elsie Saunders of Moyock, NC; two aunts, Rebecca Trafton of Upper Marlboro, Md and Maggie Lee of Hertford, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
