Rita (Carroll) Williams

With tear-filled eyes and aching hearts, the Williams family has given distinct and detailed instructions to Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations to promulgate the earthly passing of their beloved, Rita Carroll Williams. At the tender age of 57, God called her angelic name on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at the Sentara Virginia Beach Hospital. 

Life Celebration Services will take place on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 12:00 noon at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, Elizabeth City, NC where Rev. Dr. Michael Barclift is Pastor and Bishop David L. White, Jr., will be officiating and delivering words of comfort. Interment will follow in the West Lawn Memorial Park. From the hours of 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019, her earthly remains will lie in repose in the chapel of Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations. The family will receive friends at the home of the deceased, 213 Linwood Drive, Elizabeth City, NC. 

Rita leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories: loving husband of 33 years, Stafford Williams, Jr, of the home; son, Thaddeus C. Williams of Elizabeth City, NC; one sister, Romell C. Overton (Willie, Jr) of Elizabeth City, NC; five aunts, Clarine Smalls and Aldonia Griffin of South Mills, NC, Heraldine Stokley of Elizabeth City, NC, Aretha Jones of New York and Evolia Pope of Portsmouth, VA; one uncle, Walter Jones of Elizabeth City, NC; four sisters-in-law, Brenda Williams, Doretha Grason (Kevin), Edna Williams (Robert) and Wendy Tisdale (Stephen) all of Elizabeth City, NC; five brothers-in-law, James Williams (Mary), Donald Williams (Loretta), Quinton Williams (Sarah), Villie Williams (Charlene) and Kendell Williams (Lisa) all of Elizabeth City, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
