Nelson Griffin

Mr. Nelson Griffin, age 84, of 1294 Turnpike Road, Elizabeth City, NC, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 21, 2017 at the Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation, Elizabeth City.

Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, Elizabeth City, NC. Interment will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery. A viewing will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, June and Anthony Williams, 1498 Millpond Road, Elizabeth City, NC. 

Mr. Griffin is survived by: children, Calvin Griffin (Sandy) of Maryland, Norman Griffin (Wilma) of Raleigh, NC, June Williams (Anthony), Victoria Gregory (Robert) and Ruby Barnard (Clinton) all of Elizabeth City, NC and Fleurette "Flo" Griffin of Georgia; siblings, Pauline Walker and Jean Elliott of Virginia, Edith Driver (Curtis) of Elizabeth City and Joseph Griffin (Benny) of Virginia; two sisters-in-law, Piggy Griffin of New York and Rosetta Stokley of Elizabeth City; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Final Care and Compassionate Services are being provided to the Griffin and connected families by, Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations.
