Lessie Mae (Riddick) Griffin

The last mile of the way on this side of beautiful Zion was reached for our beloved, Lessie Mae Riddick Griffin, age 92 of 1424A Lynch's Corner Road, Elizabeth City, NC as she made her transition to a land filled with milk and honey, never to want no more, on Saturday, October 27, 2018 in the care of her daughters residence. 

A service of love and remembrance will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, Elizabeth City, NC. A viewing of her earthly remains will take place on Thursday, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.at the funeral home. The family will then lay her earthly shell to rest on Friday, in the Sawyer Cemetery. They will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Gwenda Griffin, 106 Palomino Court, Elizabeth City, NC. 

Lessie is survived by three daughters Leora Burgess of Manhattan, NY, Ida Rae Walker (Arbelvia) and Gwenda Griffin of Elizabeth City, NC; two sons, Arthur Riddick (Pearl) and Travis Griffin, of Elizabeth City, NC; eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Clarine Smalls and Aldonia Griffin of Elizabeth City, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
