"Because the Lord is my shepherd, I have everything I need
He lets me rest in the meadows grass, And He leads me besides the quiet stream
He restores my failing health, And helps me to do what honors Him the most,
That's why I'm safe, Safe in His arms"
Larry Leroy Jones, age 61 of 112 Cameron Drive Apt 104, Elizabeth City, NC, made his sudden transition from this earthly life to his Heavenly home, on Saturday, February 17, 2018. We will miss him on this side but we find comfort in knowing that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, and with him knowing the Lord we know, that he is safe in His arms.
The family has selected to honor and remember his life on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of the St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, Elizabeth City, NC with Rev. Dr. Ricky L. Banks, officiating and delivering the eulogy. He will then be escorted to his final place of rest in the Memory Gardens Cemetery. Viewing and Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the home of the deceased.
He will leave to forever keep his memories alive: loving wife, Ernestine P. Jones, of the home; three daughters, Tanisha Price and Natasha Cowell, of Raleigh NC and Tameika Skinner (Stanley) of Elizabeth City, NC; one son, Terrell Cowell (Monique), of Elizabeth City, NC; five sisters, Margie Owens (David), Carolyn Wiggins (Michael), Catherine Shedrick, Georgia Jones-Taylor (Robert) and Alice Faye Bailey; one brother, James Hyman (Barbara); step-mother, Agnes Jordan; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Hendricks and Brenda Figgs; two brothers-in-law, Carlton Price (Izetta) and Brian Price; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss him deeply.
Final Care and Compassionate Services with love, care and uncompromising dignity are being provided to the Jones and connected families by the Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations.

So glad He shall hide me, Safe in His arms"
