Joseph "Joe" Caroll West

Joseph Carroll West (Joe) was born in Camden County North Carolina on August 10, 1943, to Mrs. Marjorie West. Joe grew up and was educated in Camden County. After graduation, he joined the United States Army and retired in 1986 with 24 years of service. After retiring from the Army, Joe worked for the Department of Labor at Ft. Sill. He owned Joe West Tax Service until his death.

Joe married Robbie Freeman in 1984. Their family blended and together they had 6 children.

Joe was a member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church where he served as the Finance Chairman. He was a member of the Mistletoe Lodge #31.

His mother, Marjorie West and his brother, Donnell Walden, preceded Joe in death.

Joe is survived by his wife Robbie, daughters Michelle (Roger) Lewis of Oklahoma City, Cheeryl (Lorenza) West Starr of Atlanta, GA and Dia L. Jones of Philadelphia, PA, sons Jimmy Jones, Jr. of Lawton, Terrance West of Oklahoma City and Jerrold (Tonny) Jones of Lawton, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters Antoinette Wilson of Newport News, VA and Eartha Walden of Norfolk, VA, brothers Jimmy Walden and Stanley Walden of Norfolk, VA, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and countless friends. 

Service will be Thursday, October 25 @ 11 AM at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, Oklahoma. Howard Harris Funeral Home, Lawton, OK.
