John Wilbert Walston

In extreme sadness, the caring professionals of Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations is embracing the tender hearts of the loved ones of Mr. John W.Walston. Mr. Walston age 92, received his angelic wings early Thursday morning at the Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News, VA.

Life Celebration Services will take place on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 12:00 noon at Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church, Shiloh, NC. with Rev. Wade W. Staten, Sr., officiating. His bed of rest will be in the Memory Gardens Cemetery, Elizabeth City, NC. Moments of Viewing and Reflection will take place in the funeral home chapel on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. 

Mr. John leaves to cherish his precious memories: two children, Deborah Boyd (Johnny) of Newport News, VA and Shelton Walston (Flora) of Newport News, VA; six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, Cleveland Walston of Shiloh, NC; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Griffin of Newark, NJ and Villa Archer of Henrico, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Final Care and Compassionate Services are being expressed to the Walston and all connected families by Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations, Elizabeth City.
