George Parigo Armstrong, Jr.

We stand in humbled submission to the will of God along with the remaining and cherished family members, to announce the earthly passing of our beloved, George Parigo Armstrong, Jr., who transitioned from this life with 75 years of love on July 2, 2019 at the Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. 

Life Celebration Services will convene on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at the Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in the Newland Township of Elizabeth City, NC. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Elizabeth City, NC. Moments of Viewing and Mediation with "Buggs" with take place at the funeral home on Saturday, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of the deceased, 1367 Millpond Road, Elizabeth City, NC. 

The special family links that remain include his loving mother, Audrey Leolia Armstong of Elizabeth City, NC; his wife, Annie Armstrong of Elizabeth City, NC; three sons: Terrill Armstrong of San Francisco, CA, Chonbrey (Nakia) Amstrong of Elizabeth City, NC, and Toriano (Angela) Armstrong of Wendell, NC; two daughters: Lavonda “Gale” Johnson and Jacqueline (Jesse) White of Elizabeth City, NC; seven grandchildren: Lucretia White (Ham), Alicia White (Snaebe/Duke), and Joy Armstrong (Sugarfoot) of Elizabeth City, NC, Jamel Highsmith, Torin Armstrong (Stringbean), and Timothy Armstrong (Timmo) of Wendell, NC, and Jamie Neal of San Francisco, CA; two great-grandchildren: Justin Brothers (Squirt) and Jordan Williams (Lil Squirt) of Elizabeth City, NC; two brothers: Carlton (Glenda) Armstrong of Elizabeth City, NC and Brien (Patricia) Armstrong of Michigan; two sisters: Dimples Armstrong of Elizabeth City, NC and Glenda (Melvin) Armstrong of Danbury, CT; and a host of other relatives and friends. 

The earthen vessel of George P. Armstrong, Jr., rest in the earthly care and compassionate hands of Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations.
