Charlie Griffin

Mr. Charlie Griffin, age 83 of 407 Factory Street, Elizabeth City, NC, transitioned from this life on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City. 

Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church, Elizabeth City, NC with Rev. Dr. Kelvin McDonald, Sr., officiating and Bishop David L. White, Jr., delivering the eulogy. A viewing will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the home of the deceased, where they will also assemble on Sunday for the funeral procession. His final resting place will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery. 

Charlie leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Wynnette Bennett-Griffin, of the home; two daughters, Portia Toxey and Shlonda Griffin Blackwell; one son, Keith A. Griffin; four sisters, Lillian Edison of Chesapeake, VA, Ernestine Griffin of Los Angeles, Ca, Rosa Kidd (Larry) of Compton, Ca and Joyce Williams of Elizabeth City, NC; three brothers, Hubert Griffin (Louise) of Elizabeth City, NC, Arbon Griffin (Helen) of Fayetteville, NC and Willie Griffin (Jean) of Chesapeake, Va; six sisters-in-law, Cheryl Morrison, Charlene Royer, Celeste Taylor (Mike), Janet Bennett, Denise Bennett and Sharon Bennett; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
