"It is Well" for Allen Alfred Brooks, Jr., of 210 Native Dancer Court, Elizabeth City, NC,  as he transitioned and went to his heavenly home, on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, Virginia Beach, VA. 

Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Elizabeth City, NC with the Rev. Frederick Z. Godfrey, officiating. Interment will follow in the New Oak Grove Cemetery. A viewing will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the home of the deceased. 

Allen leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Beulah Johnson Brooks of Elizabeth City, NC; one son, Allen Brooks III of Elizabeth City, NC; two daughters, Angela Elliott (Brooks) of Ludowici, GA and Sakya Brooks of Greensboro, NC.  Three step-children, Shameika Saunders (Darryl) of Raleigh, NC, Corey Respass (Ronda) of Wake Forest, NC and Ja’Lissa Trotman of Washington, DC; fifteen grandchildren; one loving aunt, Effrie Reid of Manhattan, New York; three brothers, Linwood Brooks (Kathy) and Tracy Brooks (Cynthia) all of Elizabeth City, NC and Venzola Jackson of Brooklyn, NY; five sisters, Dollie Banks, Jackie Godfrey, Alfredia Seymore(Wilbert), Dora Etheridge (Neal) all of Elizabeth City, NC and Emiley Jackson of Binghamton, New York; five sisters-in-law, Helen Banks, Edna Brooks, Mary Cooper, Granada Johnson, and Ethel Banks, all of Elizabeth City, NC; five brothers-in-law, Israel Johnson (Linda) of Queens, NY, Kermit Johnson (Veronica) of Bronx, NY, Floyd Johnson (Carol) of Elizabeth City, NC, Vernon Johnson (Samantha) of Hampton, VA, and Warren Johnson (Janet) of Elizabeth City, NC and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Final Care and Compassionate Services are being provided to the Brooks and connected families, by the Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations.
