Willie Dunagan Obituary

Willie Alton Dunagan, 86, of Long Lane, Edenton, NC, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024.

Mr. Dunagan was born in Thomasville, Alabama on May 30, 1937, and was the son of the late Kirby LeGrand and Pearle Mae Knight Dunagan. He retired from the United States Navy after 26 years of honorable service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Joyce Helena Dunagan Joco and son Timothy LeGrand Dunagan and eleven brothers and sisters.

Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Barbara Lynn Ludwig Dunagan. Two daughters Joann Alton Brush (Rodney Hunt) of Edenton, NC and Judy Lynn Meeks of Ahoskie, NC; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Bungubung of San Clemente, CA, Willie Joco and wife Kelli of Hertford, NC, Jaime Dana and wife Ashley of Virginia Beach, VA, Tiffany Joco and fiancé Sean Gosdin of Grand Prairie, TX, Joseph Watkins of Spring Hill, FL, Anthony Meeks and wife Kristin of Ahoskie, NC, Heather Hudson of Ahoskie, NC, and LeGrand Dunagan of Camden, NC; and eleven great-grandchildren Mylene and Sadie Joco, Christina, Chelsea, Jaiden and Joelle Dana, Owen and Claire Gosdin, and Nicholas, McKenzie and Remington Meeks, and a niece Brenda Entrekin.
