John Junior Wilson

Mr. John Junior Wilson, 75, of Elizabeth City, NC, departed from this earthly life on Sunday, April 21, 2024. 

Life Celebration Services will take place on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Ellis Temple Missionary Baptist Church, Winfall, NC, where Rev. Charles R. Eason is Pastor and Elder Quinton Jordan will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in Wilson Cemetery, Hobbsville, NC. 

John Wilson, Sr. the son of the late Ulis and Eutha Wilson, was born in Gates County on December 28, 1948 and departed this life on April 21, 2024. John was raised in a loving home with four sisters (Florence, Beulah, Judy and Christine) and a brother (Elder McKinley).

At a young age, John became a part of Blanchard Grove Church and sung in the choir. After graduating from Gates County High School John joined the United States Army and served as a medic in the Army. He worked for Quality Seafood Company in Elizabeth City, NC, John worked his way up to becoming a supervisor. After many years at Quality Seafood John retired and enjoyed life. John hobbies consisted of motorcycles and restoring classic cars from his childhood. John was loving father and husband, grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin. John enjoyed spending time with his family and having family get togethers but most of all he loved pickling cumbers and cook his famous pig feet.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Ulis and Eutha Wilson of Gatesville, NC and his sisters, Christine Brown (Milton) of Danbury, CT and Judy Jordan (Quinton) of Hertford, NC. He leaves behind his wife of 1 years, Rosa Maria Rubio Wilson of Elizabeth City, NC; John Wilson, Jr. Elizabeth City, NC; two sisters, Florence Hurdle (Sherrod) of Winfall, NC and Beulah Johnson (Lycell) of Waterbury, CT. John leaves behind a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
