Willie Overton, ​age 69 of 601A Crooked Run Road, Elizabeth City, NC, transitioned from this earthly life on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at his residence, surrounded by family and friends. 

Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Robert Thomas, officiating. Interment will follow with full military rites in the Albert G. Horton Veteran Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of the deceased. A viewing will take place on Sunday at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  

​He leaves to cherish his loving memories: loving wife, Jannie Overton, of the home; two daughters, Tonya Currans of Santa Rosa, CA and Tracy Stokley of Raleigh, NC; two sons, Reginald Overton (Debra) of Charlotte, NC and Bailey White, Jr., of Elizabeth City, NC; two sisters, Susie Thomas (Willie) of Elizabeth City, NC and Mary Lister of Easton, Pa; two brothers, Robert Overton (Hollie) and Gilbert Davis (Lillian) of Elizabeth City, NC; two grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

​Final Care and Compassionate Services are being provided to the Overton and connected families with love, care and uncompromising dignity, by the Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations.
