William Earl Woodley

Mr. William Earl Woodley, age 66 of 217 Snowden Road, Shawboro, NC, made his earthly transition to his heavenly home, on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center, Chesapeake, VA. 

Celebration of Williams' life will take place on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at 2:00 PM at New Providence Missionary Baptist Church, Shawboro, NC with Pastor Tyrone Smith, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A viewing of his earthly remains will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. 

He leaves to cherish his memories: loving wife, Jacqueline Simmons Woodley, of the home; one daughter, Vontina Woodley of Shawboro, NC; one sister, Henrietta Woodley Cartwright of Camden, NC; two brothers, Clifton Woodley and Frankie Woodley of Moyock NC; one aunt, Mary Cartwright of Hampton, VA; two uncles, Morris White and Paul White of Chesapeake, Va; six sisters-in-law, Grace Marie Stiles (Tallie) of South Mills, NC, Mavis Simmons of Elizabeth City, NC, Cynthia Simmons of Gastonia, NC, Delores Simmons of Elizabeth City, NC, Denise Simmons of Elizabeth City and Deidre Simmons (Troy) of Elizabeth City, NC; four brothers-in-law, Willie Simmons, Jr of Elizabeth City, NC, Wiley Simmons of Portsmouth, VA, Oscar Simmons (Theresa) of Camden, NC and Melvin Simmons (Joanne); two grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

William Earls' last words to his family and friends would simply be:

"Hold to his hand, God’s unchanging hand,
Hold to his hand, God’s unchanging hand;
Build your hopes on things eternal,
Hold to God’s unchanging hand."
