Sarah Ajerina (McPherson) Griffin

Mother Sarah Ajerina McPherson Griffin, age 81 of 211 Claremont Court, Elizabeth City, NC, accepted the masters call, on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation Center. 

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 12:00 noon at The Mount, Elizabeth City, NC with Pastor Nina Davis, officiating and Pastor Daniel Spence, delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Sawyer Cemetery.  She will lie in state from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. A viewing and visitation will be held at  Victory Praise and Worship Center on Friday, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Jamie Liverman, 577 Chapanoke Road, Hertford, NC.

Mother Griffin leaves behind her precious memories: three  daughters, Margaret Liverman (Jamie) of Hertford, NC, Veranika Moore (Roy) and Brenda Williams (Gurvis) all of Elizabeth City, NC; three sons, Clifton Griffin (Brunella), Travis Griffin (Juanita) and Troy Griffin (Elisa) all of Elizabeth City, NC; her siblings, Gladys Gardner (Tommy) and Cecil McPherson of Riverhead, NY and Mary H. McPherson of Elizabeth City, NC; daughter-in-law, Gilbertine Griffin; twenty seven grandchildren; twenty eight great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren;  and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Final Care and Compassionate Services are being provided to the Griffin and connected families, by Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations.
