​Our beloved ​George Williams, Jr., ​​age 72, transitioned from this life on Sunday, April 22, 2018. 

​​His life will be celebrated​ on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 12:00 noon at the ​Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations​ with Rev. Gladys Griffin, officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Memory Gardens Cemetery, Elizabeth City, NC. 

To carry on his legacy and love,  he leaves to cherish his memories; loving wife, Lynnette Williams, daughters Melissa Temple, Kim Hasberry and Letitia Lewis (James); sons, Matthew Williams, Gregory Hasberry, Vernon Browne and Allister Browne; siblings, Charles Williams (Stephanie), Magdaline Wesley, Gwendolyn Herring (Sylvester), Caroline Carver and Eulanda Williams; nine grandchildren (Sonia Hinton, deceased); ten great-grandchildren; loving aunts, Eugenia Godfrey and Catherine Williams; uncle,  Naman Williams (Nellie); and a host of nieces and nephews. Special nephew, Dimitri Locke. Special cousins, Margaret Stokley, Mary J. Harris and Bernetta Barco. Special note, George's best friend was none other than his brother Charles. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Roxangel W. White and Stella W. McPherson.

​Final Care and Compassionate Services are being provided with love, care and ​uncompromising dignity​ by the Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations.
