Our beloved, Catherine Commander Mercer, of 1564 Caratoke Highway, Moyock, NC,transitioned from this earthly life, on Friday, March 9, 2018 at her residence, surrounded by loving family and friends. 

Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at New Sawyers Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Camden, NC. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A viewing will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the home of the deceased. 

Catherine leaves to cherish her loving memories: her ten children, Charles Bogues (Peggy), Celestine B Christian, George Mercer III,Vivian M. Wilson (Joseph) & Claude Mercer all of Moyock, NC. Gail M Harris (James) of Elizabeth City, NC, Thelma M. North, Joanne M. Lewis (Alphonso); Cathy Mercer & Christine M. Beavers also of Moyock, NC;  twenty-six grandchildren; forty-eight great-grandchildren and thirty-six great-great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Eugenia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

Final Care and Compassionate Services are being provided to the Mercer and connected families by the Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations.
