Our beloved crafty, lover of family, hardworking, down to earth, "Do you need anything" with a beautiful and loving smile, Cassandra Griffin Dorsey, age 51, peacefully transitioned from this life on Saturday, April 14, 2018.

The "dash" between her year of birth and year of passing will be celebrated on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Town South Church of Christ, 2224 Peartree Rd, Elizabeth City, NC 27909 with Rev. Ronnie Riddick, Officiating and bringing the message of hope. Interment will then follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery, Elizabeth City. A earthly glimpse of reflection and remembrance will take place on Friday, at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the home of the deceased, 1108 Reid Street, Elizabeth City, NC.

She leaves behind a legacy of love for: loving husband, Stephen V. Dorsey, of the home; children, Dashaun Dorsey (Jerwanna) of Spotsylvania, VA, Shavaun Dorsey (Angela) and Sandria Dorsey, both of Elizabeth City, NC; her mother, Celestine Riddick (Johnnie) of Elizabeth City, NC; four sisters, Cordelia Levell Spence (Tony) of Elizabeth City, NC; Andrea Creecy (Gilford) of Raleigh, NC, Cheryl Bowe (Keith) of Elizabeth City, NC and Chanda Vann of Raleigh, NC; six grandchildren, Jaliyah Dorsey, Jalen Dorsey, Jaxen Dorsey, Jordan Dorsey, Jade Dorsey and Jonah Dorsey; father-in-law, Norman Dorsey (Joyce); mother-in-law, Barbara Morning; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Final Care and Compassionate Services are being provided to the Griffin, Dorsey and connected families, with love, care and uncompromising dignity by the Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations.
